Roughly 50 female physicists came to Waterloo, Ontario in July 2011 for a three-day conference aimed at examining the research, challenges and opportunities of women in their field. Co-presented by the Institute for Quantum Computing and the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics, the Women in Physics Canada Conference featured lectures and workshops, as well as panel discussions seeking to understand and remedy the under-representation of women in the field.
