http://anes.med.umich.edu/main/programs/residency.html The goal of the Anesthesiology Residency Training Program is to develop motivated physicians into consultants in Anesthesiology. We endeavor to prepare specialists with a broad spectrum of knowledge, excellent clinical skills, mature interpersonal communication skills, ability to understand systems-based practice, use experience to provide better care, and become the consummate professional. To accomplish these goals, the program's educational opportunities range from individualized instruction to small group discussions and large format lectures. Educational experiences include daily informal morning case presentations where residents and faculty present their plans for the upcoming day's cases as well as formal didactic presentations by the faculty and nationally recognized guest professors. The residency training program at the University of Michigan was founded in 1950, making it one of the oldest in the nation. The depth and breadth of training is exceptional, in part due to the University of Michigan Medical Center being among the nation's largest and most modern tertiary care centers. The Medical center, on the banks of the Huron River, consists of a complex of 4 major interconnected hospitals on one campus (University Hospital, C.S. Mott Children's Hospital, Holden/Women's Hospital, and The Cardio-Vascular Center. Interview videography and editing by Video and Internet Stuff, LLC, Dexter, Michigan.
