Michael Levitt, professor of structural biology at the Stanford University School of Medicine, has won the 2013 Nobel Prize in Chemistry. He shares the prize with Martin Karplus of Université de Strasbourg, France, and Harvard University, and Arieh Warshel of the University of Southern California. The three were honored "for the development of multiscale models for complex chemical systems."
