New statewide assessments to measure student achievement in high school Math and English graduation requirements, for the classes of 2016, 2017 and 2018, have been announced by the New Jersey Department of Education. New Jersey schools will transition away from the High School Proficiency Assessment (HSPA). Beginning in 2015, there will be performance-based assessments in Math and Language Arts in March, and end-of-year assessments near the conclusion of the school year.
