If it takes you 10 minutes to write and send a birthday card, then don't watch this video -- just write and send that card to the address below. Read on or watch to find out why... In 2005, a British girl died because she was forcibly subjected to exercise and behavioural therapy to treat her ME -- therapies which were proven to adversely affect such patients. This would make you wary of such treatment for your children, wouldn't it? That's why Karina Hansen's parents, in Denmark, decided to seek private treatment for their daughter instead of the psychiatric treatment on offer from the state health service. But, in a chilling scene reminiscent of a John le Carre novel, a group of psychiatrists, police and locksmiths broke into their house to abduct Karina and give her this dangerous treatment against the wishes of her family, and the advice of everyone else in the medical profession. Nearly 2 years on, and Karina's health has worsened -- but still, neither the psychiatrists nor the Danish government have admitted they're wrong, and Karina's parents are still banned from seeing her. Help us change this now. All we're asking you to do is send a birthday card to Karina. Sending to the hospital where she's imprisoned may not get them to her bedside, but it may make an impression on the psychiatrists. Sending them to Karina's mother mayn't get them to Karina either, but your support will warm the hearts of her family. Or send them to both. Either way, the more cards that are sent, the greater the chance of a media interest in Karina's case that will result in the Danish government and/or the psychiatrists seeing sense. Karina's address at the hospital: Karina Hansen Tagdækkervej 10 8450 Hammel Denmark Karina's address via her parents: Karina Hansen Per og Ketty Hansen Kløvermarken 8 7500 Holstebro Denmark For further information on Karina's plight, please explore https://www.facebook.com/groups/311223615735936/ And for info on Sophia Mirza, the British girl who died following similar psychiatric treatment, watch http://youtu.be/yrBAlKtroBw The Graticast is being produced to raise awareness of the debilitating disease of ME, and any profits will be donated towards biomedical research for the care and/or cure of ME victims.
