Energise for Excellence (E4E) is a framework that has been developed to enable nurses and midwives across the healthcare service to provide the best possible care to our patients and the best possible experience for patients and our staff. It is not another initiative or programme, but more an approach to practice which supports the delivery of care. The E4E call to action has been designed to spur nurses and midwives into leading quality improvement, to reconnect them with the reasons why they entered the professional and demonstrate the real difference excellent nursing care can make and offer support along the way.
The E4E online platform (http://www.acalltoaction.co.uk/energiseforexcellence) creates a unique community for nurses and midwives. This networking space provides access to other nursing and midwifery colleagues across the country, fostering the sharing of experience, best practice and enabling a dialogue about how to tackle common challenges experienced in their daily working lives, such as falls and nutrition & hydration. By placing various tools, techniques and nurses' own examples of best practice in one central place, nurses and midwives are empowered to make a difference, and take it upon themselves to recognise what needs improving.
