If so, then becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant could be your ticket to a long and rewarding career in healthcare! HIRED has partnered with Adult Basic Education and Hennepin Technical College to provide a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training for people of all ages and income levels. Nursing Assistant positions have many benefits. They offer flexible schedule, highly transferable skills, and have great growth potential. But most importantly, Nursing Assistants get to know their patients on a day-to-day basis and get to make a real impact on their lives!
This program is part of the Minnesota FastTRAC initiative, which is designed to provide low-cost, high quality training to quickly move into a career. In just two months you can earn 4 college credits from Hennepin Technical College and CNA certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry. Throughout the training you will receive personalized job counseling and attend career development workshops with HIRED staff that will help you land employment in the field. Upon successful completion of the Integrated CNA class, students will attend a career fair sponsored by HIRED that allows them to get valuable face time and begin applications with a variety of local healthcare employers.
There are two entrance points to get started with the program and move into the Integrated CNA class. Student reading scores are assessed, and based on outcomes, either apply directly through HIRED or are referred to a pre-CNA class first. The Integrated CNA class provides both a HTC and an Adult Basic Education instructor in the classroom along with additional study sessions to accommodate people from all ages and backgrounds.
Financial Assistance may be available for Hennepin County residents based on eligibility.
CNA Integrated Class:
• Hennepin Technical College -- Eden Prairie
• October 22 -- December 14, 2012
• Wednesdays & Thursdays -- 1:00 pm -- 5:50 pm
• Mondays -- 1:00pm -- 4:30pm (required study sessions/HIRED workshop)
• Clinicals at onsite nursing facility: 12/17, 12/18, 12/19
*Tuition cost is approximately $900 including state exam fees
* Attendance to all class sessions is mandatory
