Sindhu Utthan Kendra
Locally, this organization is known as " Sindhu Utthan Kendra (Nepal)". In English it can be termed as Sindhu Upleftment Center(Nepal). Or in its short form, it is called SUK
The location of the project:
The office of this project is located in Sipapokhare V. D. C., a remote area of Sindhupalchowk District, Bagmati Zone, Nepal.
The working areas of SUK
The focal point of this organization is mainly the periphery of Sipapokhare VDC of Sindhupalchowk district. In the long run, it aims to be expanded to the whole district or throughout the country with high enthusiasm and self-motivation. This project remains as an organized, self-governed, non-profitable, non-political and non governmental organization. It will continuously focus on social work to meet its objectives.
Objectives of SUK
It will focus on development of equitable society by providing education, motivation, financial and other supports to disables, orphans, poor, un touchables, marginalized and old aged groups.
Priority will be given to modern and scientific agriculture and production system by coordinating with the farmers and other concerned bodies.
One of the major concerns of this project is also on preservation of nature, construction and sustainable development
It will focus on women\rural health and awareness program.
It will work against the inconsistencies, evil-practices and superstitions existing in the society; for example- girls' trafficking, drug addiction, gambling, dowry system etc. through awareness programs.
It will focus on promotion of friendly relations and brotherhood with other social organizations, local youth clubs and the individuals interested in social work.
Achievements so far
Within a short period of its establishment ( 6 months), the project has been successful to achieve the following:
- A local survey for collection of data about the disables, orphans financially deprived and marginalized group was successfully conducted.
- Orientation program/ training about team work and social service provided to the members on 2nd Januaruy.
- Distribution of uniform and stationery items to the needy and financially deprived local students (16th February)
- Cleanliness and awareness programs throughout the village ( April 20)
- Plantation program on the occasion of World Environment Day ( 5th June)

Lack of strong financial source
The young team members, being students themselves, are unable to contribute for financial support.
