Having one of these passports to use as a travel document can save you a lot of headaches getting visas and waiting in airport lines. The more countries you have visa-free or visa on arrival access to, the better.
Each year, Henley and other groups put out a list of how many countries each passport can access visa-free. However, we combed through the data to break all of the ties and determine the best passports in the world.

The top three countries, for example, each have access to 173 countries without much hassle. However, Finland has access to more commonly visited countries, and requires fewer visas on arrival. Finnish passport holders even get limited visa-free access to Vietnam, a country most westerners must fill out forms online and pay $45 to visit.
And, much to the surprise of some, the United States passport doesn't make the list. While the US offers a good travel document, most EU passports offer more travel privileges thanks to the borderless Schengen area and their worldwide reputation.
