Doing your best at a job interview is key to landing the position you might be dreaming about, so how do you get up to speed and 'Wow' them? Kevin Hunter, Host of The Business Forum Show (business talk radio), highlights several intangible skills that make or break you in the interview process. Assuming you have the necessary qualifications for the job, it basically boils down to 'who you are' that spells either failure or success. Kevin Hunter shares the top keys to interviewing success which include: 1. Researching the company, both online, and by calling them. 2. Asking for advice from peers, teachers, and other business owners. 3. Practicing. Even the professionals do it, and so should you. 4. Be Professional. Screw this up, and you are out the door. 5. Be Genuine and Sincere. Nobody like the fake version of you, and it will show poorly if you are true to who you are. 6. Be Present and Engaging. Shut of your cell phone, take notes, and don't interrupt. 7. Remember it's a 2-way interview. Take the opportunity to find out of it's the right company for you. 8. Have a good, positive, upbeat attitude. Attitude is the NUMBER ONE attribute in the interview process. 9. Entitlement. Don't think you are owed, or you deserve something. You'll come up empty. 10. Be Teachable and Coachable. This is NUMBER TWO criteria. Can they teach you the job? 11. Mental Flexibility. In today's fast changing world, can you help them stay ahead? Do you get along with others? Do you always like to do things YOUR way? 12. Have Vision and Ideas. This is pure WOW FACTOR. If you can show that your mind is full of possibilities, you become an asset to the organization. 13. Feedback. Ask for it. Don't be afraid of hearing the 'bad news'. This is another WOW FACTOR.. few people ever do. 14. It's okay to be afraid. Good Luck!
