COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Phillip Merrill College of Journalism held a career fair in October for journalism students to meet and interview with recruiters from different media companies. Both undergraduate and post-graduate students came armed with résumés and smiles, scouting the rows of tables for companies they wanted to intern or work for. Media companies, from WBAL in Baltimore to USA Today arrived to offer a variety of positions. An annual event for Merrill College, the UMD Newsdesk visited the career fair to investigate how journalism students considered the event, and what the recruiters wanted to see in their candidates.
