The New School presents a conversation on integrating technology to improve student comprehension as a part of the Master degree program in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages at The New School(http://www.newschool.edu/matesol). Motivating today's tech savvy students is challenging. Blended learning keeps students engaged in and out of the classroom by increasing their exposure to the target language. Classroom presentation software, online interactive activities, CD-ROMs and Web 2.0 tools help keep students motivated and interested in their ESL classes. Both comprehension and production skills are strengthened through the various media. The presenter will consider the benefits of incorporating various types of teacher and student technology tools in the language learning experience. Mary Louise Baez , M.A. TESOL, is the National Training ESL Specialist for Cambridge University Press. She holds an M.A. in TESOL from California State University Fresno, and has taught ESL, trained teachers and managed programs for over 25 years in the US. and Latin America. This event is co-presented by the School of Languages (http://www.newschool.edu/public-engagement/school-of-language-learning-teaching) and Cambridge University Press. Location: Theresa Lang Community and Student Center, Arnhold Hall Thursday, July 18, 2013 at 6:00 pm
