Thousands of demonstrators marched on 12 state buildings including government offices, military bases and TV studios. The protests have been sparked by a controversial amnesty bill. The legislation, would have allowed former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra , the brother of the current prime minister, to return to Thailand without serving a jail term for corruption.
