In this short overview, Richard Susskind discusses the main themes of her lecture in the OII's series of lectures aimed at undergraduates. Until recently, justice has been administered in physical courtrooms, and legal advice has been dispensed by solicitors and barristers. The Internet offers the possibility of change - to a world of virtual courts and virtual lawyers, of online dispute resolution and online document drafting, of legal e-learning and communities of legal experience. In this short video, Professor Susskind discusses his lecture, which explored these and other opportunities, arguing that justice itself requires a shift from 19th century practices to Internet-enabled administration of justice.
