President Vladimir Putin visited the Far Eastern Federal University in Vladivostok on Wednesday, attending one lecture on marine biology and another on combustion. The rector of the university showed the president the underwater robotics lab, where technology has been developed to monitor underwater environmental conditions.
Putin also paid a visit to the Petrochemical Resources lab, which recently developed an environmentally friendly floor laminate made from buckwheat. He also saw the work of British photographer Rolph Gobits, who is teaching students about the art of photography.
The Far Eastern Federal University has many international links, among the teaching staff there are 63 academics from the U.S., Japan, China, Germany, and South Korea.
