UCR "Avatar" botanist discusses the complex lives of plants

Jodie Holt, Prof. of Plant Physiology at UC Riverside and botanical consultant for "Avatar" presents the Earth 101: What Hollywood Can Teach Us about Our Planet. In this 58 min video in front of a class of middle school student, Holt talks about how the plants in the blockbuster film "Avatar" were created and how the film helps inspire and teach us about our planet. This is the second lecture in the Earth 101 science lecture series sponsored by the College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences and the Science Circle at UC Riverside. Holt's lecture is introduced by Aurora Johnson, a UCR alumna and physical science teacher in Moreno Valley Unified School District.
