Subra Suresh, an IIT Madras Alumnus is the ninth president of Carnegie Mellon University where he began his tenure on July 1, 2013. Prior to assuming this role, he served as director of the National Science Foundation, He was the Chief Guest for the Alumni Day 2013 at IIT Madras and the 50th Convocation held on 19th July 2013
