The program provides academics and professionals with hands-on skills in innovation and commercialization of medical technology products. Thus, the program enables people to exploit their deep technical or scientific knowledge to innovate new healthcare solutions and to understand and handle the commercial aspects that determines the business potential. A key element in the program is the unique access to a selected clinical ward for the entire duration of the program and 8 dedicated weeks of field work in a ward. By participating in BioMedical Design you will learn and use a set of different skills. You will learn to work team-based with a startup mindset. You will experience how to work with an interdisciplinary team and how to be strategic about team-skills and dealing with personality profiles. BioMedical Design can be a springboard to establishing a business based on the inventions developed during the program. Patent rights will be shared in the team alone. BioMedical Design is an 11-months continuous program with academic theoretical teaching and practice-based work. There will be a high level of self-studying and team work. Each team will be offered office facilities, access to brainstorming room and prototyping labs. It is possible to maintain a part-time or full-time flexible work beside the program. Participants should expect to spend two full work-days a week for lectures, field work and team work. We welcome and appreciate applicants from countries outside Denmark. Teaching will be in English unless only Danish speaking participants. Innovation and entrepreneurship is not an art - it can be taught. At BioMedical Design you will be practicing while learning. http://innox.au.dk/education/
