The mission of the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering is: to educate the future leaders in mechanical, aerospace, and nuclear engineering; to generate and disseminate original knowledge and technology; and to develop innovative solutions to societal challenges. The department conducts a range of research over a broad spectrum of applications including, Advanced Automotive and Aerospace Systems, Energy and the Environment, Micro- and Nanotechnology, Bioengineering, Materials and Manufacturing, and Nuclear Science and Engineering.
