UCT hosted a high-level Kapuscinski Development Lecture at the Snape Building (upper campus) on Wednesday 5 November 2014, delivered by Aromar Revi, director of the Indian Institute of Human Settlements and leading expert on global environmental change.
Organised jointly by the United Nations Development Programme, the European Commission, the African Centre for Cities and the University of Cape Town, Revi's lecture – titled "Putting the Urban at the Heart of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals" – addressed the challenges African and Asian countries are facing with urbanisation.
