W: $2.40, please. So that’s $7.60 change. Here you go.

W: Hi, Todd. I'm thinking of buying a car. Have you got any advice for me?
M: Well, I guess since this will be your first car, you've got a lot to learn. Before you make the purchase, you have to be able to judge the reliability of the engine, the tires, the paintwork and so on. Do you want me to come along and help you pick one out?
W: WouId you? That would be fantastic! I don’t know much about cars, so I could really use your help.
M: Okay. Just let me know when you want to go.

W: I’m afraid we’re fully booked for the rest of the week, but there is an opening at 9 o’clock on Monday morning. I’ll book this time for you.

M: Hello, I bought the Digital FX-Z90 stereo from one of your stores. Unfortunately, I’m having some problems with it.
W: I’m sorry to hear that, sir. What specifically is the matter?
M: I don’t know much about this kind of thing, sorry. But something is definitely wrong with one of the speakers. It keeps making this strange crackling sound whenever I turn it on.
W: Please bring the stereo to our repair center in Albany. The technician there will take a look at the problem.

M1: Hi. It’s Brian Cairns here from Ridgeworth Building International. I’m calling about the lumber we ordered from your company on Tuesday.
M2: Sure, Mr. Cairns. What seems to be the problem?
M1: Well, I’m afraid we actually recorded the wrong address on the order form. The shipment should be sent to our warehouse in Blakeney, not the construction site in St. Louis. The address is 121 Corder Avenue, Blakeney, Illinois.
M2: Okay, thanks for letting us know in advance. That shipment should arrive by this Friday.

W: Well, the problem is that the team is so short-staffed. Whenever I walk in, the employees are always answering calls. Their workload is too demanding. I suggest we hire 5 additional customer service workers.
M: Okay, let’s do it. We certainly can’t afford to let things stay as they are. If we get on it right away, we should be able to find some good new recruits within the next 2 or 3 days.

M: Excuse me. I received a notice in the mail about an overdue book fine. I think it must be a mistake.

W: Well, that’s strange. According to our records, you borrowed the book on August 18th. I’ll go and get my manager to sort this out.
