This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Dan Hon argues that the powerful combination of Moore's Law, complex systems and economies of scale is creating an "empathy gap" between the creators and users of technology. He provides examples of where we see this happening today and credits the UK's Government Digital Services agency as one organisation that's addressing the empathy gap effectively.
Dan Hon was raised in Merseyside but is now based in Portland, Oregon with his wife and young child. Dan’s a Cambridge University law graduate and has an MSc in Software Engineering from the University of Liverpool. He is a voting member of BAFTA and a fellow of the RSA. Along with his brother, Adrian, he was a co-founder of Six to Start. Most recently he was the Creative Director of Wieden & Kennedy leading interactive design for the likes of Facebook, Sony and Nike.
