Mary Faith McCormick, a sixth grade teacher at Siloam Springs Intermediate School in Benton County Arkansas, is accused of having sex with a 13-year-old student.
Police say the illicit loving began when the 13-year-old boy accepted a dare from his friend to visit the 32-year-old teacher’s home. The married mother-of-one welcomed the boy and his friend into her home to watch a movie together.
After the movie the friend, like any good wingman, left the two alone for some late night tutoring. The three month affair came to an end when police were notified after a 12-year-old girl borrowed the boy’s cell phone and discovered pictures of the teacher wearing nothing but a towel.
Superintendent Ken Ramey told 5NEWS that McCormick has been suspended on full pay. While McCormick collects those hard earned tax dollars, part two of this story stars the slightly more desperate and cautious teacher, Jennifer Sexton (who now goes by her maiden name Jennifer Caswell).
Sexton, a former Oklahoma middle school English teacher was caught having sex with a 15-year-old student in a Mississippi hotel room.
The 28-year-old quit her job at Hollis Middle School just days after the alleged first sexual contact with the boy in April. The Harmon County Assistant District Attorney, Eric Yarbrough told the Oklahoman the 15-year-old student was uncooperative, “The child said nothing’s going on, she’s just a nice teacher.”
The student later told police that he and Sexton had sex in her classroom, her car, her house, and in the home of her father, who works as a pastor. Sexton was busted after she allegedly drove 650 miles to meet up with the student where she shacked up with him in a Best Western hotel.
Sexton turned herself in at the Harmon County Jail on Friday. Both McCormick and Sexton will be facing rape charges in court.
