It all starts with a placement test.
What I do is I provide a child with a math and a reading placement test to get the perfect starting point. Now their perfect starting point is going to be something where they are really comfortable--they are able to do their math problems and their reading problems very quickly and accurately. That's a perfect place to start because that is going to give that student a lot of confidence.
So I take a good look at that placement test to determine where the perfect place is to start within the KUMON curriculum. And then, that's the place that's going to develop their confidence ... develop their skills.
From there they move as quickly as they can but without getting frustrated.
