Students spending part of their summer in the Chandler lab of the Center of Applied NanoBioscience and Medicine at the UA College of Medicine – Phoenix took a brief break from their work recently. They participated in a show of solidarity with other people around the world who are following the exciting and historic journey of the Solar Impulse airplane. Inspired by a viral video on the Solar Impulse YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/user/SolarImpulseChannel), the students made paper airplanes, recorded the experience and are forwarding the videos to their friends through social networks using the hashtag #futureisclean. Solar Impulse is attempting to be the first round-the-world solar flight. The plane and crew have been grounded by weather in Japan but are scheduled to make a stop in Phoenix on their trip. http://www.solarimpulse.com/
