Everybody knows that RBAB songs are derivatives of other songs, but not everyone realizes that even the band's name is a derivative. Before the Really Bad Actuarial Band, there was the Bad Actuarial Band. The Bad Actuarial Band featured, among others, Jim Feldman on guitar, flute, saxophone and whatever, Gary Frisch on drums, Ryan Larson on trombone and Stan Waldhauser on guitar. The RBAB kind of borrowed the name for what they expected to be a one night stand back in 1980. The rest is history.
The two bands teamed up for one magical performance at Gary Frisch's FSA Party in 1984. This is a video of what came down that night.
