About Travel Better London
We teamed up with 13 London poets to bring 'poetiquette' to all travellers across the network.
Working with London's vibrant poetry scene, M&C Saatchi and Transport for London recruited 12 top performance poets to appear at major stations across the network for a week from Monday 30 September 2013.
The poets highlighted some of the passenger behaviours that can disrupt our journeys, to remind us that a little courtesy can make travelling better for everyone. The campaign also a celebrated London poetry and tied in with National Poetry Day on Thursday 3 October.
Combining written verse and performance, nine 'Poets in Residence' at different Tube stations delivered daily delight to the station whiteboards and performed live at the busking spots, some even presented pop-up performances around the network to surprise London's commuters.
To date the Travel Better London, campaign has received over five million impressions on Twitter with just over 5,000 mentions using the #TravelBetterLondon hashtag and over 200 submissions into the poetry competition
