http://michelleburdo.com Tips for a successful media interview: Don't ask the anchor/reporter for the questions ahead of time! You won't get them. So don't bother asking.
Speaking as a reporter, some of your best, emotional, authentic soundbites come out of your first answer. I'm not willing to lose a great soundbite in the pre-interview. So here's how you can feel more comfortable: Say, "So what will we be discussing today?" "What's the focus of your story?" That's one way to get a better feel of what you'll be asked in a less-hostile environment. Any good reporter will go through this in a pre-interview. If they don't, launch the pre-interview yourself by offering those questions so you feel more comfortable.
