Though many hardware and software tools exist for creating music, these tools tend to be costly, have a steep learning curve, and require too much time to go from idea to execution. Project MUSE hopes to create a simple and intuitive music creation/performance tool with minimal additional tools available to the average person. Using real¬time pattern recognition techniques, our software platform will transform a performance consisting of sounds and motions human beings can easily make (beatboxing, singing/humming, dancing, rhythmic motion, etc.) into a machine¬-readable format compatible with the latest music technology such as the MIDI protocol. Whether the performer is normal individual or a professional artist, project MUSE will allow anyone to unleash the musician inside of them.
