IELTS Writing Club is a group for people to come together and help each other to improve their writing skills for the writing section of the IELTS test.
How can we do this? We all know that getting to a class to study with other students can be difficult and expensive. Here with the IELTS Writing Club group, we want to create a forum for people to work together online using free and easy to use websites and software that we might use every day.
In IELTS classes, a big part of what makes them more fun and successful than just reading an IELTS study book at home alone is that you can work with other students. With the help of software such as Skype, FaceTime, and Google Docs, we can work together and write IELTS task answers. Working together over Skype or Facetime will of course give members valuable practice in improving their speaking as well.
Anything you write can then be uploaded to the group for others to see and give feedback on. Group moderators such as myself with many years of experience in teaching IELTS and Academic Writing will also give feedback.
What we'd also like members to do is to record a video of themselves working together speaking and writing using free desktop video and audio software such as Quicktime. Other members can then watch the video and pick up some hints and tips, learn some new vocabulary while also improving their listening.
