Present tense is one of three basic verb tense forms in English. It is used for any action or event taking place in the present. In the present tense, It's important for the subject and the verb to match in number. That is, a singular subject needs a singular verb, and a plural subject needs a plural verb. There are important exceptions to this rule, though, and that's for I and you. I and you, even though they're singular, take a plural verb.
This lesson has examples and sample conversations which will help you understand how to use the present tense of verbs and make sure they match the subject.
