A video on some warnings about teaching English and the negative stuff about teaching
Some annoying stuff I find.
Students ask you the same generic questions about Japan like your fav. food and then get super crazed when you know the names of food and you say you eat the same as them cause you live here for 3 years, they still get so excited when you say something. Then they ask if you really know how to eat it or what not.
Students who invent English words for Japanese items that don't have English words, like sushi or ramen, and when they ask you how to say it, or you correct them they dont belive or listen to you.
One student knows I can speak and read Japanese and that i love books, I buy a book and show the student and start talking about my review on the book, they dont listen and cut me off asking can I read it? and I say yes, continue what I was saying and they cut my off again to say, really? really? whats the letter here say? etc.
People say I am "too Japanese".
People doubt my skills and randomly assume I don't know anything
Same questions repeated over and over again.
Students who rather trust their dictionary than your explanation
When you tell them its wrong , they don't listen.
When you explain the translation perfectly, they pull out their electronic dictionary and STILL need to look everything up.
People who love forigners toooooooo much.
People who talk in super slow Japanese or stupid Japanese to test your skills, and when you tell them to stop they don't fix it.
People who mock your English way of speaking.
All these annoying reasons are why I just don't like being an English teacher, and don't gotta worry about that because I am my own boss on youtube ^^
生徒は私が言うことを聞かないで、自分の外人ステリオタイプを思い込んで、失礼とかいやなことを言う。 和食好き？と聞かれたら、「あなたと同じものを食べている」と言って、その人が理解でなくて、「馬刺しとか」を言おうとしたら「すげえええええええええええええええええええええええええええええええええええええええええええええええ」とか言われる。 馬刺しじゃなくても、何でも言うと全く同じリアクション。
そば、とかラーメンっていう日本語しかない言葉を、どうしても英語でなんですかって聞く。英語がないと言ったら、信じないし 勝手に変な言葉を作って、それで呼ぶ。
私が本を買ったら、本を生徒に見せながら、ちょっと本のことについて話して、生徒が私が言っていることを聞かないで「へ？読めるの？」を言い出して、 「はい、日本語読める」と答えて、でまた続きをして、生徒がまた聞かないで「へ？本当？本当に分かるの？ この言葉は何？この漢字は何？」とかを言われる。
下手なゆっくり過ぎる日本語を話す生徒。注されると、直さない。
アホみたいな、子ども言葉を使う生徒。
外国のことを好きすぎ生徒。
私が言っていることを信用できない生徒。
電子辞書のほうを信じる生徒。
私が言っている、英語の説明を聞かないで、辞書の説明を覚える生徒
色々なことがうざいと思うので、英語の先生は私に合わない仕事。
