In this edition of "The Murrow Interview," Shereen El Feki's unique perspective on HIV/AIDS, sex, and politics in the Arab world is discussed in a one-on-one interview with Dean Lawrence Pintak. Shereen El Feki is the author of "Sex and the Citadel: Intimate Life in a Changing Arab World" (Random House 2013). Shereen began her career with a doctorate in immunology from the University of Cambridge before becoming an award-winning healthcare correspondent with The Economist and a presenter with Al Jazeera English. The former vice chair of the UN's Global Commission on HIV and the Law, as well as a TED Global Fellow, she sits on the boards of the Arab civil society groups Meedan and the Arab Foundation for Freedoms and Equality. Shereen has contributed to The Huffington Post and International Affairs, among other publications, and has written and spoken widely on women, sexuality, and HIV in the Arab region.
