In response to the large number of younger candidates taking Cambridge English: First, Cambridge ESOL has developed a version with exam content and topics specifically targeted at the interests and experience of school-age learners.
The webinar gives an overview of the format of Cambridge English: First for Schools, and explore how the content and treatment of topics are selected to ensure:
• the understanding of a text does not rely upon knowledge that a candidate still in education is unlikely to have, e.g. processes involved in buying a house or a car
• the exam topics will be familiar to young people and commonly encountered by them, so they are not put off during an exam by a subject that is too far removed from their life experience
• the content of the texts is what young people might like to read.
